    OVERVIEW
    DETAILED ITINERARY

    Day 1:Heraklion - Rethymnon (79 km) (B)
    Drive west along the north coast of Crete to reach Rethymnon. Enjoy the Venetian old town and the castle ‘Fortezza’

    Day 2: Rethymnon - Chania (59 km) (B)
    Continue along the west coast to Chania passing through towns of Kavros and Georgioupoli where you can admire one of the longest beaches of Greece.

    Day 3: Chania - Agia Galini (108 km) (B)
    Choose between two routings to reach Agia Galini. The most beautiful, which is narrower and longer passing through Chora Sfakion, Frangokastelo, Preveli monastery and beaches or return back to Rethymnon and turn south through the village of Spili.

    Day 4: Agia Galini - Ierapetra (176 km) (B)
    Morning to explore Agia Galini and continue to Ierapetra. En route see Matala which was a popular beach for hippies in the 60’s.

    Day 5: Ierapetra - Sitia (60 km) (B)
    Visit the old Tzami (Turkish worship obelisk), Napoleon’s residence and the old castle wall in Ierapetra before driving to Sitia. Visit Vai, the most eastern part of Crete with the famous palm tree beach.

    Day 6: Sitia - Heraklion (132 km) (B)
    After breakfast continue back to Heraklion. Drive past Agios Nikolaos town with its beautiful salt water lake.
     
    Day 7: Depart Heraklion (B)
    After breakfast, drop your car back at Heraklion airport.
