  • Switzerland - Hot air ballooning
    OVERVIEW
    DETAILED ITINERARY

Call us to plan this amazing activity. If you get the chance, tie it in with Hot Air Balloon Week.

In the last week in January every year, this town provides the setting for an international spectacle, which is, in fact, the leading alpine ballooning event: the "Semaine Internationale de Ballons à Air Chaud" (International Hot Air Balloon Week) involves around 90 balloon pilots and is a fantastic display of colours and shapes.

The town also has permanent and temporary exhibitions on the history and practice of ballooning.

    DETAILS
    PRICE
From approximately CHF380 per adult and CHF190 per child for a minimum of one hour.
    YOU WILL LOVE

The Alps are best seen from a side view when a whole vista of peaks stretches away on the horizon.

    DATES
    Year round, but weather dependent.
    Hot air balloon in Switzerland

If you have not already taken a hot air balloon ride in the Alps there are three reasons you should. The views are simply fantastic. The burner which regularly interrupts the quiet wafting, makes steering easy and no anxiety will assail you because that burner makes the landing quite predictable.

A small town near Gstaad is the town from where the first people to circumnavigate the world non-stop by balloon set off and so it is a prime site for ballooning.

For those less ambitious of you it is possible to fly west from the town, descend for a quick drink and then return at a different altitude.

Ever thought about a helicopter flight over the Bernese Alps and landing on a glacier to have a glass of champagne? You can arrange this heart-stopping surprise for any occasion. Flights take off from near fashionable Gstaad in Saanan, but landings, as well as take offs, can only be guaranteed when the snow is firm, even during the summer months. A wondrous activity for you when next you travel to Switzerland.
